Saudis Funding Iraqi Insurgency...The Deeper Issues

Knowingly or unknowingly, it seems that Saudis, and perhaps Muslims in general are the ones funding the insurgency in Iraq. Though the Saudi government wants to deny the claim, there are simply too many smoking guns to be ignored, and one has to wonder when the United States is going to give Saudi Arabia an ultimatum...either shut down the cash pipe line into the insurgency, or face serious sanctions. Unless, there are other more important factors in play.

In a classified report in 1996, CIA officials finally pulled together what they had on Islamic charities. The results were disturbing. The agency identified over 50 Islamic charities engaged in international aid and found that, as in the Balkans, fully a third of them were tied to terrorist groups. "Islamic activists dominate the leadership of the largest charities," the report noted. "Even high-ranking members of the collecting or monitoring agencies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Pakistan--such as the Saudi High Commission--are involved in illicit activities, including support for terrorists."

Putting the above into perspective, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern nations, have donated over 80 Billion dollars to these religious based charities, and this does not include private donations from their nations various and assorted wealthy princes, some of them with less than honorable intentions. On one hand, we have Saudi Oil revenues driving the race to globalization, while at the same time funding the insurgency that rails against it. Perhaps the key to ending the war on terrorism is understanding this duality of purpose within Saudi Arabia, understanding what it is they gain in serving two polar opposite agendas, and applying those same precepts to other world governments, and those who are currently in the ruling class.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was born of a kind of marriage of convenience between the House of Saud and the strict Wahhab sect of Islam. This marriage planted the seeds for terrorist movements that the world fights today. To gain power, the Saud clan made a deal with the devil, and now two centuries later, to remain in power, they must continue to embrace religious rules and agendas that are both outdated and cruel. Eliminating funding to the terrorist that are the radical Fundamentalist Islamic Movement would go against a deal made 200 years ago to bring them into power, would in some ways condemn the very rules they themselves have used to oppress the people of the Middle East for some centuries, which in turn would more than likely spell the end of their own rule. In some ways, the ruling class of the Middle East must embrace these radical values in much the same fashion as America's ruling power embraces and props up the values of Christianity, as these values allow them the power they need to rule the masses.

In the 18th century, Mohammed ibn Saud, a local chieftain and the forebear of today's ruling family, allied himself with fundamentalists (as in Radical) from the Wahhab sect. Over the next 200 years, backed by the Wahhabis, Saud and his descendants conquered much of the Arabian peninsula, including Islam's holiest sites, in Mecca and Medina. Puritanical and ascetic, the Wahhabis held wide sway over Saudi society. The Wahhabis enforced a strict interpretation of certain Koranic beliefs, held to a very conservative even radical set of beliefs that oppressed the masses, eliminated individual rights in favor of strict adherence to outmoded ideas of faith and religion. Religious police forced subjects to pray five times a day, made sure women were oppressed, that they were covered head to toe. Rival religions were banned, criminals subjected to stoning, lashing, and beheading. In short, in exchange for political power and wealth, the Saud's allowed the masses to be BRAINWASHED by the Wahhabis, forced into submission, forced to accept strict religious dictum's, in a way similiar to Western Soceity's use of Christianity and the ten commandments to BRAINWASH our own masses, the great unclean.

Perhaps it's overly simplistic, but Saudi elite donating to charities that in turn support various assorted insurgents, as well as terrorists cells amounts to blood money, a ransom agreed to over 200 years ago. The Saud's stay in power, but in exchange for that, they funnel large amounts of money to religious clerics, who in turn use said money to enforce their own versions of religious truth onto the masses, and God have Mercy on those who disagree with them. If this basic diagram of reality is true, the war on terror cannot be ended without a civil war that engulfs the entire Middle East. The clerics, Imam's and other religious leaders that control most of Middle Eastern society are not going to relinquish their power without a fight, and the Saud family, the various Sheik's are aware of this...as distasteful as they might find the radical Islamic Fundamentalist Movement, they will tolerate and fund it rather than risk losing their own power and wealth in eradicating it. Perhaps, America's own political power base embraces the Christian Church's own calls for Amnesty for illegals for much the same reasons of convenience...it is easier to grant them this favor, rather than to risk their wraith.

Perhaps this model of reality also explains why the United States and other Western Societies have tread so lightly where Saudi Arabia is concerned...our CIA is well aware of who funds terrorism, our own Pentagon knew that al-Sadr was a huge liability in Iraq who should have been taken out when we had the chance...but, would such eradication have come with a far larger cost? Globalization requires, at least for the moment, an uninterrupted flow of fossil fuels to fund the world economy. Massive civil unrest in the Middle East would seriously disrupt said economy, and with it, create horrific financial losses among the world's most elite citizens. In short, the wealthy and elite are far more content managing the war on terror, than eradicating it, as in some fashion, the tenets behind the terrorist movement continue to successfully oppress a large segment of the world's population, keeps them in their rightful place within the ruling class, and us as serfs in our place at the bottom of the dung heap.

What if all the oil in the Middle East changed hands, was owned BY ALL THE PEOPLE, rather than a small handful of wealthy and elite sheiks? What would happen if oil companies and industry suddenly had to make fair deals that led to a redistribution of the worlds wealth...a recent report shows that two percent of the world's population now controls over 50 percent of its wealth. Obviously, such a redistribution of wealth cannot be allowed to happen, the carefully crafted set of societal norms that have been shaped and crafted by the rich that assure the meek acquiescence of the masses must be maintained. The status quo must be maintained, the ruling party protected and preserved at all costs...if one ruling group falls, their deceit exposed to the world could risk a toppling of the entire structure, a massive and world wide redistribution of both wealth and power as rich become poor, and poor become rich and religion is exposed as the whore it has always been.

Basic truths become apparent as you examine the history of the Saud family, their power, and their deal with a religion. Let us for a moment separate God from religion, divorce one from the other. Let us accept on basic faith that God, or some ethereal superior being or power exists. Let us then examine the great religions of the world, and how they came to power...MONEY AND POWER that was funneled to them in exchange for their backing of a particular person or group of people seeking power, as one hand washes the other. Religion in all its various assorted forms and flavors has been used down through the ages to control, manipulate and rule the masses. A way of maintaining the status quo of the haves and the have not's. As the world's population grows, it becomes ever more necessary to keep the masses in line, force at least the majority of them into accepting the rule of law, abiding by what is defined as societal norms, arresting and imprisoning all others. Without this adherence to rules, we would live in chaos...or, in questioning the status quo we would throw off the shackles that oppress us, and effect change, create a paradigm shift that changed the norms, redistributed the wealth and power now held by a few. That cannot be allowed, could never be tolerated by our masters.

What if the war in Iraq is not what it appears to be at all? Setting aside all the deaths, all the fighting, and what is the root cause of everything going on there? Religion and the manipulation of it to control people and/or things...the very tool that has been used for eons to control the masses, the very thing that allows the few to rule, control and manipulate the oppressed. IF religion is a tool of the rich and elite, then we are seeing a family feud between various members of the ruling class, an attempt by one or some members of the ruling class to eliminate a player, or if not full elimination, perhaps a means by which to bring them under control. So, citizens of the world needlessly die so that those in power can play games, argue over who controls what. Far fetched ramblings of a mad man? Ask yourselves then why it is that America is wanting to rush to the moon, to build a permanent base there...hidden behind NASA's great plan is the control of a ever widening circle of new resources as those on earth are diminished, and with that quest comes a larger slice of the power pie, or perhaps a new unique mineral or alloy meant to replace Gold as the currency of value on this world. In the name of God, and using religion as a tool, men in ivory towers doing what they feel is right in oppressing the world and those who inhabit it. Evolution at its finest hour, perhaps even the birth of a new religion as we are offered a chance to be closer to God in becoming slaves to the mining companies that will own and control the moon.

What if ending the war in Iraq was/is as simple as average men and women simply laying down their arms, telling the rich and elite they will no longer die for their false and wrong values? Insurgents, terrorists, militia's and members of the United States Armed forces all as one saying, "Sorry, we will no longer do your bidding, we will no longer embrace nor enforce your vision of right and wrong." If no one refuses to die on the cross of another's values, perhaps that reality would force the power brokers of the world to come up with a better way of dividing up the pie. Perhaps it will take ordinary folks to find and end to the crisis in the Middle East...imagine of all those now fighting laid down their arms, and instead simply starting building, putting back together what the rich have torn apart. In that new found common cause, would we not see the true spirit of God, instead of the divisiveness of religion?
